About Me

I have almost 4 years of experience in UI/UX Design; I was responsible for designing 3 mobile apps from scratch (IOS&Android) and involved in many multi-platform projects with design teams in IT companies.

I graduated from Computer Education and Instructional Technologies, (Marmara University, Istanbul) in 2012. I was educated well in computer graphics, software development and producing educational materials based on computer technologies.

Studying Computer Graphics lead me to develop a real affinity for Graphic Design, hence following my degree I decided to peruse a field I am genuinely passionate about, which is why I am a UI/UX designer and not a Teacher or Developer.

Naturally I wanted to advance my skill set in accordance with my new found passion of computer graphics & art. I took 3 months’ worth of drawing lessons in preparation for my Masters.

I am on the point of getting my Masters degree in Computer Aided Art and Design from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. I’ve had a unique experience by conducting usability lab studies of user interfaces in Virtual Reality, observing users and analyzing the quantitative data.

The Design Approach

My approach usually starts with examining the project within 2 phases of UXPA(User Experience Professionals Association)’s UX/UCD (User-Centered Design) process which also fits the HCD (Human-centered design) process.

Analysis Phase

I usually follow these steps in the analysis phase to clarify the project outline.

  • Field studies  and research
  • Clarify the context:
  • Goals/needs
  • Assumptions
  • Problems
  • Constraints
  • Competitor audit & product inspiration
  • Develop task analysis
  • Document user scenarios

Design Phase

I usually follow these steps in the design phase to keep the balance between user's and stakeholder's needs.

  • Brainstorm design concepts
  • Develop screen flow
  • Create low-fidelity wireframes
  • Create low-fidelity prototypes
  • Conduct usability testing
  • Create high-fidelity detailed design
  • Conduct usability testing
  • Do improvements on final design
  • Document standards and guidelines
